As part of our ambition to being transparent about everything we do, we communicate as much as possible about the origins of our ingredients.

That means that as well as knowing the exact source of our strength-giving water, of course we work closely with our suppliers to also trace added ingredients such as fruit juice, tea and sugar. For example:

Sugar - Bio infusion

The sugar today we use a mix of cane sugar and beetroot sugar. End 2021, we will exclusively use beetroot grown in Europe - some in France, some in Germany and some in Switzerland - and the dry organic sugar is converted to a liquid by a family-owned company just 120km away from Volvic.

Sugar - Regular range

We are using white cristal sugar from 100% French beet root and we are committed to advocate for a better agriculture by supporting our farmer in their agricultural development programs to be even more sustainable (regenerative agriculture by 2025).

Tea leaves

Our tea is grown on ethical, sustainable tea estates in India, which you can read more about here

Flavoured water

Flavourings are made from 100% natural aromas and other natural extracts, such as passion fruit grown in Ecuador, lychees from Madagascar or Mauritius, mint from Morocco, lime from Mexico and lemon from the Mediterranean

Our sourcing transparency doesn’t end with our ingredients - it also applies to the bottles you enjoy your Volvic drinks from. Most of our ranges of beverages in France and Germany are in rPET bottles, made from old bottles sourced almost exclusively from recycled materials here in the EU.

The clear way we go about sourcing ingredients for our refreshing Volvic beverages means we’re doing our best to ensure we’re using products created by farmers and producers whose values align with ours – and as a certified B-Corp™, that’s as important to us as it is to you.

We are continuously looking for improvement. We have a 5 stars supplier program that annually rewards the efforts of our suppliers to maintain their basics while improving the quality of their products and methods. This program evolves each year and, as of the end of 2021, one of those stars is now dedicated to sustainability & carbon footprint.

We also go the extra mile to make sure that our own standards are even higher than market standards, such as making sure that we ask for no GMO.
