At Volvic, our tea is sustainably sourced

When you take a sip from a refreshing bottle of Volvic tea, your drink has reached the final stage of a journey that has taken it all the way from the tea estates of India. We only source tea from estates which are officially Rainforest Alliance Certified - but what does that mean?

As a certified B-Corp™, we ensure our tea comes from ethical estates that care about their people and the planet. That’s why 100% of our tea leaves originate from Rainforest Alliance Certified plantations, which aims towards compliance against the highest social, economic and environmental standards.

Where does Volvic tea come from?

Volvic tea comes from the picturesque Nilgiri Hills in Southern India, and it’s grown on three Rainforest Alliance certified tea estates: Kairbetta, Hakuval and Coonoor. The first estate in India to receive Rainforest Alliance Certification™, the pioneering Kairbetta estate:

Pays its workers above industry standard wages

Not only that, but certification also ensures farmers are trained to use sustainable and climate-smart farming techniques, minimising their environmental impact. That’s why it’s a great example of what Rainforest Alliance Certification™ is all about.

About the Rainforest Alliance

You’ll probably recognise the little frog on the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal, but do you know what it stands for? In the Rainforest Alliance’s own words, it means a product that has been:

“Produced by farmers, foresters, and/or companies working together to create a world where people and nature thrive in harmony”

As an international non-profit organisation, the focus of the Rainforest Alliance ranges from conserving habitats such as forests and waterways and the wildlife that calls them home, to ensuring that farm and plantation workers have a good standard of living, including healthcare and education for their children.

As a consumer, the Rainforest Alliance frog symbol means you’ll always be able to recognise products that have been produced in a way that’s fair for both people and planet - like Volvic tea.
